File Size & Resolution Guidelines
Understanding resolution requirements for large-format wall murals
Good News! You don't need a super high resolution image to print on textured wallpaper. In most instances, a resolution of 72 DPI at print size will produce perfect results. With the large scale nature of wall murals, some images can produce acceptable results with resolutions as low as 40 DPI at full size.
File Size Guidelines:
Files Above 10MB
Usually scales without any issues. These files typically have enough resolution for excellent print quality.
Files Between 2MB and 10MB
We employ our specialized upscale tools with excellent results to optimize your images for large-format printing.
Files Between 500KB and 2MB
We employ our specialized upscale tools and evaluate the output. If we identify any issues, we will email you a screenshot of the result for your evaluation before proceeding with printing.
Files Below 500KB
These file sizes are variable. They are generally optimized for fast loading times on websites and similar preview environments and are considered low resolution, generally not suitable for large format printing.
However, you are welcome to email us with your image and we can confirm suitability for you. In some instances, it is just the content of the image that has allowed it to be rendered at a lower file size, and the quality could be suitable for upscaling.
